MSE vs. Rumensin Experiment 3:
University of Idaho, 1995
The following trial
consisted of 96 head of 750 lb. beef steers randomly allotted
into pens of 6 head. The
cattle were fed for 125
days. One group received the basal diet plus either 1 lb./ton MSE
concentrate or 29 g/ton of
Rumensin plus 10 g/ton Tylan. The basal ration consisted of 76.6% barley,
15.7% corn silage, 4.4% alfalfa hay and 3.4% supplement.
