High Forage Ration
The
following trial consisted of 140 head of 700 lb. crossbred beef steers
randomly assigned in a 2 x 2 factorial design study. The cattle were fed the
basal diet plus either 1 lb./ton MSE concentrate or 29 g/ton of Rumensin
plus 10 g/ton Tylan. The high forage basal ration consisted of 62.5% barley,
32.0% corn silage, 2.4% alfalfa hay and 3.1% supplement. This basal ration
contained 12.2% protein
